Andy's journey begins on his sixth birthday when he receives a Good Guy brand talking doll named Chucky. Unbeknownst to him and his mother Karen, the doll houses the soul of Charles Lee Ray. After Chucky murders Karen's friend Maggie, Andy is suspected of the crime and institutionalized. He escapes as Chucky kills his doctor, leading to a confrontation where he is rescued by Karen and Detective Mike Norris. Two years later, while living with foster parents Phil and Joanne Simpson, Chucky revives to hunt him again, killing the Simpsons and teacher Miss Kettlewell before Andy and new sister Kyle destroy it at a Good Guy factory by covering Chucky in molten plastic and crushing its head with a fan blade. Eight years on, a 16-year-old Andy at Kent Military School faces a revived Chucky who targets his friend Tyler instead; Andy saves Tyler by using a fan blade on a carnival ride to destroy Chucky.

In Their Own Story

In Curse of Chucky's post-credits scene, an adult Andy is mailed a new Chucky doll but shoots it with a shotgun. By Cult of Chucky, he keeps Chucky's severed head locked in a safe, torturing it while trying to prove Nica Pierce's innocence to Dr. Foley. Learning that Chucky has replicated his soul to control multiple hosts, Andy assaults a guard at the asylum to get himself committed, killing one duplicate before the primary Chucky, now possessing Nica, escapes. In the Chucky TV series, Season 1 finds adult Andy hunting remaining dolls with foster sister Kyle; he contacts Jake Wheeler and abandons Kyle at a gas station for her safety. He later hijacks a mail truck filled with duplicates but is held at gunpoint by a Tiffany doll copy. In Season 2, Andy drives the truck off a cliff to kill the army of dolls, sustaining grave injuries before being captured and tortured for a year by "The Colonel." Saved by Devon and Lexy, he kills The Colonel and attempts an exorcism that fails when Chucky swaps into Dr. Mixter's body.
