Andy's existence was defined by survival from age six, enduring multiple assassination attempts orchestrated by a possessed toy. After his friend Maggie was murdered on his birthday, he was suspected of the crime and institutionalized. He was released after Chucky was seemingly destroyed, but the terror resumed when Chucky returned. Later, after being sent to live with foster parents Phil and Joanne Simpson and meeting fellow foster child Kyle in Child's Play 2, Andy faced renewed terror. Chucky revealed himself, killing their teacher Miss Kettlewell and the Simpsons. At the Good Guy doll factory, Kyle and Andy overpowered Chucky, mutilating him, covering him in molten plastic, and blowing his head apart with an air-hose. Eight years later in Child's Play 3, a 16-year-old Andy attended Kent Military School, befriending cadets Whitehurst and De Silva, while younger cadet Tyler also became involved. When Chucky revived to transfer his soul into Andy but shifted focus to Tyler after orchestrating deaths, Andy saved Tyler by shredding the doll in a large industrial ventilation fan. As an adult, Andy's trauma evolved into a singular purpose: hunting Chucky. In Curse of Chucky's post-credits scene, he shot the mailed doll in the head with a shotgun. In Cult of Chucky, he kept Chucky's severed head locked in a safe, torturing it while trying to stop Chucky's spread and hunt him down. When learning Chucky could replicate his soul to control multiple hosts, Andy got himself committed to an asylum. He killed one doll but the primary Chucky took over Nica's body and escaped. In the TV series Season 1, adult Andy and Kyle hunted remaining possessed dolls until Andy contacted Jake Wheeler. After discovering duplicates loaded into a mail-truck, Andy hijacked it only to be held at gunpoint by a Tiffany doll duplicate. In Season 2, Andy was captured and tortured by a Chucky doll known as 'The Colonel' for a period spanning from the end of Season 1 to mid-Season 2, less than a year, before being rescued.

In Their Own Story

In the second season of the Chucky TV series, Andy drove a mail-truck off a cliff to kill as many Chucky dolls as possible, resulting in grave injuries. A specific Chucky doll known as "The Colonel" took him hostage and tortured him for a year before he was saved by Devon and Lexy. Andy later killed The Colonel and participated in an exorcism to send Chucky's soul to hell. When the ritual failed and Chucky escaped, Andy followed, shooting the doll numerous times until it appeared dead. However, he remained unaware that Chucky had swapped his soul into the body of his former psychologist, Dr. Mixter. In Season 3, Chucky dreamed of brutally murdering Andy, only to wake up laughing with glee. Meanwhile, in the 2019 reboot timeline, a pre-teen Andy with hearing loss received a corrupted Kaslan-brand Buddi doll. After it murdered Shane and neighbor Doreen, Andy was suspected but proven innocent when the doll went on a killing spree at a department store. Andy stabbed Chucky, Detective Mike Norris shot it, and Karen pulled its head off.
